About Kristin Pierre

Fine Artist, Oil Painter

I have always had a passion for art throughout my life.  From my first elementary school art show to winning a prestigious art award my senior year of high school, art has been foundational in forming who I am today. While in high school & college, I studied many components of studio and fine art, including photography, figure drawing, print making & design, all of which play a part in the process and composition of my oil paintings today.

While I studied art, I didn’t choose art as a focus for my early adult life.  I spent time traveling and working in orphanages in Jamaica, Thailand, and Peru. I then pursued a Masters Degree in Education, got married, and started a family all while teaching in Elementary Education for over 10 years.

My reintroduction to art came in the form of an oil painting class at our local art center. The minute I touched my brush to the canvas, it all came rushing back. All my years of studying art culminated into that moment. Since then, I’ve never looked back.

I have studied under numerous Master Painters whose expertise ranges from European Impressionism to traditional American Landscapes. Through my studies with them, along with my own passion to capture the beauty of God’s creation, I have found myself integrating both styles into my work as I find myself continually growing and evolving in my process as a fine artist. I would categorize my body of work as Contemporary Impressionism.

Along with my journey as a full-time artist, I am a wife & mother to three kids. I love traveling and being active, especially outside. My family and I currently reside in Gulf Shores, Alabama where I find the majority of my painting inspiration.
